Hyperpigmentation is a skin condition in which the melanin is damaged or diminished. Areas of the skin develop dark spots. This is usually most prevalent on the face. It is definitely most annoying when it’s on the face.
Hyperpigmentation can be caused by sun exposure, age, even hormones. Acne can also be a culprit. Once the cause of hyperpigmentation can be narrowed down, the treatment plan can be executed. For this particular client, we choose to Micro Needle first, then 4 weeks later follow with a Manual Dermabrasion facial.
When hyperpigmentation is present, no matter what the cause, it’s extremely important to maintain your SPF 30 regimen!!!! Sun exposure will create more problems and make existing spots darker. I really appreciate clients who trust a skincare journey and allow the posting of their results. Have I mentioned I have the best clients EVER! These before and afters are 8 weeks apart.
